This project is my reflection on a set of themes that have been on my mind in 2016: an awareness of my sexuality combined with a sense of constant insecurity, a sense of vulnerability, and fragility intersecting in the intimate and public realms.

‘To protect’ is a meditation on the idea of safety and its unattainability. The illusion of getting closer to a safe world became more and more real, but the experience of facing terrorism, pandemic, war shows us that there's still something we have to work on.

Taking the theme of sexual safety and condom instructions, I tried to expand this subtle metaphor and draw attention to the real problems of insecurity in the world. By translating this into an area of intimacy, I tried to share my experiences and feelings with the audience.
